Who wants to play?

Hi everyone! So, if you've found yourself here at this blog, then hopefully you are somewhat interested in joining the Arnett Quilting Bee. I hope you decide to give it a go, because I think it will be a fun chance to learn new things, play with fabrics that we wouldn't normally choose, and to get to know each other better.

Here's a review of how the Quilting Bee will work:

For everyone that joins the group, we'll have that many months of participation.
Say 12 people join, and say Aunt Sally hosts the first month...Sally would mail to the other 11 participants fabric and a block pattern that she'd like us to use. We each sew one block together and mail it back to Sally, and Sally makes one for herself as well. At the end of the month Sally has 12 blocks in the same fabric and block style, but they all look a little different since 12 different ladies made them. She puts them together and has a fun throw blanket or baby blanket. The next month it's someone else's turn to mail out fabrics and then we all make a block for that person.

Here's why this is fun:
It will be fun to play with different fabrics and patterns that we wouldn't normally choose for ourselves, but can enjoy and appreciate. It will be fun to try our hand at quilt block designs that we've never tried before. It will be fun for us each to have a quilt that was made in part by our cousins, aunts, sisters, nieces, etc. And it will be fun to contribute a small piece to everyone else's finished quilt.

Sound interesting? Contact me by replying to the email or by commenting here to let me know if you're in, or if you have any questions.

Talk to you soon!
Love, Emily
Um, no...that quilt is not mine. It's my mom's (Aunt Sally) amazing creation, and I just wanted to put it on here to marvel at it. Don't worry if you're not a superstar quilter like "the Sistahs" are, because I'm not either. For this group, good enough is good enough,
